1. Understand what you bring to the table- What value your product/service has? Who is willing to pay for that value? Take a look at your current customer base? What is it that they love about you?
2. Create a buyer's persona- This is a composite sketch of what your audience looks like. What are their interest? What do they like to do in their free time? Where do they live? How do they consume content? What do they care about? Where are they hanging out? Where do they get their information from?
3. Create relevant content. What does your audience care about? They don't want to see salesy ads, they want to connect and feel like they are apart of something. Create content that actually interest them.
5 steps to create a content strategy
1. Look at your current customer base or your buyer's persona. How are customers responding to your current content? What sparks their interest?
2. Decide on topics & themes. Based on the info from step 1, what do your audience like to watch or talk about. Again, what will provoke engagement? 3. Create relevant content. How does your audience consume content. Do you they like to watch videos? Do they like to listen to podcasts? Do they like to see pictures? What are they interested in watching or talking about?
4. Promote. Where is your target audience getting their information from? Where are they hanging out? Where should you be promoting your content? 5. Measure and Evaluate! What is working and what isn't working? How are they engaging? Are they commenting? Are they liking the content? You should download some kind of performance management software to help you measure your results. By understanding your analytics, you can build a stronger content marketing strategy. As a result, can increase revenue. This doesn't happen over night, you must be consistent.
